Claiming a cash sum

The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is designed to pay a cash sum for one or more of your loved ones on your death. When the time comes for your loved ones to let us know that they’ll be making a claim, they can simply call our friendly UK based team on 08458 35 36 37 or write to us at Sun Life Direct, Dept NPE, PO Box 446, Bristol, BS99 1DR.

To process the claim, we will need:
  • The Policy Schedule to be returned
  • The name of the person making the claim and evidence of their entitlement to the policy proceeds
  • The name and date of birth of the policyholder
  • The original death certificate
  • A copy of the policyholder's will if there is one

It is important that you keep the policy documents safe and let your next of kin know where to find them.

If these documents are not available, the person making the claim should call us on 08458 35 36 37.

Recording your wishes

If you'd like to record the names of your beneficiaries, you can complete an 'Expression of Wish' form and send it to us for safekeeping. If you'd like us to send you a form in the post, call 08458 35 36 37.

The 'Expression of Wish' form is an Adobe PDF file, which means you'll need Adobe Reader installed on your computer. Most computers will have this software installed, but if yours does not, you can download it and install it for free from http://www.adobe.com/reader.
